VIRAC, Catanduanes -- The Department of Education (DepEd) Catanduanes Division is all set for the 2012 Brigada Eskwela from May 21-26, 2012.

The activity, also known as National Schools Maintenance Week, is an annual activity of DepEd which engages all education stakeholders to contribute their time, effort and resources in ensuring that public school facilities are set in time for the school opening.

DepEd Catanduanes is encouraging the department’s employees to participate in the annual cleanup and repair activity.

Likewise, parents, students, teachers, non-governments organizations, business community and civic organizations are also being urged to join in the week-long activity.

Since its launching in 2003, Brigada Eskwela proved to be very effective and helpful in ensuring a well-equipped school building and facilities for the use of the school children which also allows parents of school children to contribute in their own means and capability.

DepEd also encourages volunteers to support the improvement of toilets wash facilities. (MAL/EA Bagadiong-PIA Catanduanes)
