The 2023 Modified Palarong Bicol formally ended today with the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Naga declared as over-all champion of the event.
DepEd Bicol Director Gilbert Sadsad, and Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion together with other DepEd Bicol and Local Government Unit officials graced the closing ceremonies of the modified palaro at the PAGCOR Event Center II in Naga City, April 28, 2023.
In his message DepEd Bicol Director Gilbert Sadsad expressed his gratitude to the five (5) LGUs for accepting the challenge of hosting this year’s Modified Palarong Bicol. Likewise, Director Sadsad expressed his gratitute to the student-athletes for their remarkable sportmanship in this year’s competition.
“I appreciate the sportmanship showed by our student-athletes during the entire duration of the competition. Winning is not getting ahead of others but getting ahead of yourself. When you accept your weaknesses, and you start doing adjustments and reinforced your weaknesses, I am confident that you will succeed as an athlete.”,said Director Sadsad
For his part, Naga City Mayor congratulated all the winning coaches and athletes and expressed his full support to the Bicol delegation as they prepare for the national meet.
“We express our greetings and best regards to all the coaches and athletes who emerged as champions in this year’s Modified Palaro, especially SDO Naga for an impressive comeback as the overall champion of the competition. Continue to make the Bicol region proud in the national level.”
After the intense competition , SDO Naga City once again reigned as the over-all champion with 76 golds, 58 silvers, and 69 bronze; followed by SDO Camarines Sur with 56 golds, 63 silvers and 68 bronze; SDO Camarines Norte with 46 golds, 32 silvers and 63 bronze; and SDO Ligao with 43 golds, 16 silvers, and 20 bronze.
