Catanduanes, Philippines – The Provincial Government of Catanduanes successfully celebrated the 127th Anniversary of Philippine Independence on June 12, 2025. Led by Governor Joseph C. Cua, a historic ceremony was held at the Catanduanes World War II Memorial Fountain.
The event was attended by notable personalities including war veterans, uniformed personnel, Girl and Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Catanduanes Island Masonic Lodge 291, and employees of the Provincial Capitol.
The celebration began with a grand flag-raising ceremony led by Bro. Tito M. Tonio III of Catanduanes Island Masonic Lodge 291. This was followed by the patriotic singing of the national anthem “Lupang Hinirang” and a solemn 21-gun salute, symbolizing deep love and respect for the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom.
In his message, Governor Joseph C. Cua emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in advancing the progress and development of the province and the nation.
The celebration of Independence Day stands as a strong reminder of the nation’s continuing recognition and appreciation of its history and freedom.
