Caramoran, Catanduanes — The Department of Education (DepEd) Catanduanes successfully held the Brigada Eskwela 2025 Division Kick-Off Ceremony and Local Stakeholders Convergence on June 9, 2025 at Dariao National High School, Caramoran.
With the theme “Brigada Eskwela: Together for a Nation of Readers,” the activity aimed to encourage community cooperation in preparing schools for the opening of classes, while promoting a reading culture among students.
The event was attended by DepEd officials, representatives from the local government, civil society organizations, and other education stakeholders.
Division Brigada Eskwela Coordinator Marife Coronejo Bonina Brequillo expressed her gratitude for the strong support of the SDO Catanduanes Top Management represented by Atty. Norlito Agunday, SGOD Chief Mary Jean S. Romero, CID Chief Romel Petajen (represented by EPS Gina Custodio), Education Program Supervisors (EPS), Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDS), and especially PSDS Delfin I. De Leon of Caramoran North & South.
She also acknowledged the support of Sir Dave B. Sarmiento as the host school representative of Dariao NHS, PBM (Vice Gov.-Elect Robert A. Fernandez) (Chair of the Committee on Education and PFPTA President), and Mayor Glenda Aguilar through LGU representative Sir Mac.
The following organizations also participated: EDUCO Philippines – Catanduanes Area, Avon Philippines – Bicol, Century Family Mall, First Consolidated Bank (through Sir Dyoneyo), Good Neighbors International Philippines (through Ma’am Miles), 87.9 Radyo Peryodiko Catanduanes (headed by Sir Ferdz and represented by Sir Buddy Isorena), DILG Catanduanes (represented by Ma’am Lea Madrid), Ando Cua Foundation (through Sir Reymart), and All Hands and Hearts International.
Also thanked were the teaching and non-teaching staff of Dariao NHS, barangay officials of Dariao, and school heads of Caramoran North and South.
According to DepEd Catanduanes, the successful kick-off is proof of the united efforts of the government, schools, and the community in advancing quality and meaningful education in the province.
