VIRAC, CATANDUANES — A former rebel known as Aka Miyo, along with several of his companions, received free housing from the government under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) — a key initiative aimed at encouraging former members of rebel groups to return to the fold of the law and begin a peaceful and productive new life.

The housing assistance was provided by the National Housing Authority (NHA) as part of the government’s broader support system for reintegrating former rebels into mainstream society. The program also includes social services such as livelihood support, education, and medical assistance.

The successful implementation of this program was led by the Catanduanes 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), in collaboration with Engr. Dan Joseph Uchi, Principal Engineer of the Albay/Catanduanes District Office; Mrs. Jennifer Tacorda-Bailon, Community Affairs Officer I; and other representatives from the local government.

Aka Miyo expressed deep gratitude for the support he received, calling it a “new opportunity to start over and live in peace.”

The Catanduanes 2nd PMFC continues to urge remaining members of the CPP-NPA-NDF to follow in the footsteps of Aka Miyo and embrace the change being offered by the government. According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), the government’s doors remain open to those who wish to surrender, reunite with their families, and take part in the country’s progress
