In his first 100 days in office as the top honcho in the Catanduanes State University (CarSU, President Azanza began the management audit that would be the basis of urgent reforms and significant milestones in his initial 4-year stint as top honcho.

In the process, he wants to assess the current status of the University in terms of its overall academic and financial health, as well as the status of its infrastructure projects, especially those affected by the recent and more importantly to check on the delays of project implementation and see how issues or problems can be resolved.

President Azanza put his Management Team in top shape and ready for the challenging and grueling tasks ahead by  conducting  strategic planning and set the standards of his administration by clearly identifying key performance indicators (KPI) for its programs and goals. In his initial inspection of infrastructure projects, he accordingly observed a slippage of negative 96.

Around 12 million worth of multi-million infra projects have yet to be completed inspite of payments received by the contractors. One of the reasons for its projects non-completion was the passing of these projects to subcontractors in collusion with big-time contractors. The president vowed to use his experience as former Chairman, Committee on Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) at U.P. Diliman to unearth these anomalies and held the culprits accountable if proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

The new top honcho who wears two hats as academic leader and chief executive officer (CEO) vowed to cleanse the institution of corrupt practices.

This 15-year old crusading community newspaper joins his administration with the utmost support of the Board of Regents (BORs) who bestowed upon him their trust and confidence for the initial 4-year stewardship of the university who will observe her 9th Foundation Anniversary this coming October 19, 2021.

May the mantra of his administration, namely: Looking Back. Thriving Now. Bracing Beyond in the observance of its golden anniversary last June 19, 2021 be supported by the rank and file, students, all stakeholders and elected provincial and municipal leaders.
