Authorities have uncovered approximately 31 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 217,511.60, during an operation in Barangay Francia, Virac, Catanduanes on September 12, 2024.

According to reports, two unnamed individuals stumbled upon a black sling bag while collecting bottles along Imelda Boulevard. Upon inspection, the bag contained several packages of a white crystalline substance, later confirmed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu.” The individuals immediately turned over the bag to the Virac Municipal Police Station, where an inventory of the seized items and drug paraphernalia was conducted.

The authorities expressed their gratitude for the swift action and cooperation of the citizens, urging continuous support from the community in the fight against illegal drugs. (Source PNP Catanduanes)
