Time do change and, in fact, flies and runs fast. That observation is indeed appropriate as far as our media outfit—Radyo Peryodiko, DWFB-FM, 96.7 mhz—is concerned, as we observed our 2nd anniversary celebration with excitement, pride and honor last March 16.
Modesty aside, barely two years in operation as the fourth radio station in the island province of Catanduanes we are gradually developing a lot of acceptance, goodwill, niche and popularity in this highly complicated medium of communication.
This sophomore celebration was highlighted by the staging of “FazikLaBand: Battle of the Bands” which drew the participation of 12-amateur, young and promising bands from the island province of Catanduanes and other parts of the Bicol Region. Truly, like the “songwriting Bicol Peryodiko Festival of Music (BPFM)” staged during the 10th founding anniversary of our crusading community newspaper—Bicol Peryodiko— another brainchild of “ Bicol Peryodiko management”.
Significantly, this special celebration would not have been made possible without the utmost support of our legions of sponsors, benefactors and supporters.
This musically entertainment event would not have been successful and worth-listening to without the special role played by the Board of Judges led by singer-composer Nonong A. Icaranom, chairman, Atty. Gilbert T. Suarez, Sangguniang Panlalawigan secretary; Hon. Karen Somido, San Andres municipal councilor; Mr. Eddie Rodulfo, LGU-Virac information officer designate; and Ms. Mariel T. Torzar, LGU-Virac, Tourism Officer designate.
With your sincere patronage and utmost support, the more we are inspired to double our efforts in providing you, dear listener-readers, with balanced, credible analysis, reporting and entertainment provided by our highly committed, responsible broadcasters and DJ’s of our almost two-year old print and broadcast academy (PBA).
