Virac, Catanduanes – In compliance with the assessment of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) at the regional level, the SGLG Regional Assessment Team from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) visited the Provincial Government of Catanduanes for documentary review and onsite assessment of the SGLG.
Led by Gov. Joseph Cua, department heads and officials participated in the assessment by presenting the necessary documents that demonstrate the implementation of good local governance practices.
The SGLG evaluation team examined the documents and certifications provided by the representatives of the provincial government of Catanduanes, which are required to pass the 10 governance areas of the SGLG. These areas include Financial Sustainability and Administration; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection and Sensitivity; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education; Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Safety, Peace, and Order; Environmental Management; Tourism Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and Youth Development.
It is worth noting that the Assessment team previously conducted a Documentary Review and On-Site Assessment in the towns of San Andres, Gigmoto, Viga, Panganiban, Bagamanoc, San Miguel, Bato, Baras, Caramoran, Virac, and Pandan.
The SGLG Provincial Team was led by Provincial Director Ray B. Caceres, CESO V, Regional Assessment Team Leader. They were joined by Mr. Mavis Raneses, LGOO IV, Joseph Zamora, LGOO II, and John Wilter Lorenzo, Francis Nohmer Esguerra, Gayon Bicol Inc. Board of Director, who provided feedback and encouraged employees and officials to continue focusing on the mentioned governance areas. (Richmon Timuat)
