Virac, Catanduanes – The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office V (DA-RFO V) and the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center V (ATI-RTC V) personally turned over a check amounting to 755,000 pesos under the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Systems (PAFES) to the provincial government of Catanduanes.

The financial grant received is part of the co-financing scheme in ATI Bicol, which serves as “Strategic Extension Support” aimed at providing assistance for the establishment of the Catanduanes Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Center (CAFEC). CAFEC will conduct various trainings and seminars on priority commodities identified in the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP), such as Abaca, Mangrove Crab, Swine, Native Chicken, and Dairy Cattle.

The Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Systems (PAFES) is one of the mechanisms of the Department of Agriculture that helps deliver agricultural extension services to the people, strengthening the collaboration among different departments, LGUs, private sectors, and other government agencies to enhance Agricultural and Fisheries Growth in various provinces.
