The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Catanduanes officially unveiled the provincial product accounts or economic accounting for Catanduanes based on data compiled from 2018 to 2022. The release event took place at Queen Maricel Inn, SIV Village, Virac, recently.
According to Catanduanes Provincial Statistics Officer, Engr. Anavi F. Camacho, the release of the economic performance data from 2018 to 2022 is considered a milestone for the province, derived from the measurement conducted on the product accounts.
Engr. Camacho emphasized that the issuance of provincial-level data responds to the needs of planners requiring local-level statistics for development planning, policy-making, and governance.
It is noteworthy that the PSA took action to compile provincial product accounts, a mechanism to assess the economic performance of each province and highly urbanized cities in the country.
