In the deliberation conducted by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) at nine o’clock in the morning on the 19th of January, the Municipality of Baras was officially declared a “Drug-Cleared Municipality,” while Barangay Baybay in the Municipality of Caramoran was declared a Drug-Cleared Barangay.

The activity was led by Dir III Edgar T Jubay, ROCBDC Chairman and Regional Director of PDEA Regional Office V, held at Rakdell Inn Barangay San Pedro, Virac, Catanduanes.

PLTCOL LOUIE MANUEL D DELA PEÑA, Chief of Police Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU), and AI V Robert T. Sebastian, Provincial Officer of PDEA Catanduanes, personally attended the deliberation along with PCPT DENVER ROMERO, the chief of Baras Municipal Police Station.

Among those present were members of the LGU Core Team of Baras, headed by Hon. Jose Paolo Teves III, Municipal Mayor; Hon. Rico Tating, Vice Mayor; Salvador Vargas, MLGOO; Rev. Fr. Nestor Buena, Parish Priest; Dr. Ariel Acompañado, MHO; Ms. Maria Taway, MSWDO representative; and Ms. Caridad Bautista, Midwife/Drug Test Facilitator, Rural Health Unit.

Meanwhile, the LGU Core Team of Caramoran also participated in the virtual deliberation held in the Conference Room of the Local Government, with the presence of Hon. Glenda Aguilar, Municipal Mayor; Barangay Captain Jocelyn De Quioz; and Mr. Noel Talion, Jr., representing MSWD Caramoran, along with PCPT REYMUND P GALERO, Chief of Caramoran.

The leadership of Catanduanes PPO expresses profound gratitude for the recognition given by ROCBDC and its thorough deliberation to reciprocate the efforts of those involved.

Although the said municipality and barangay have been declared Drug-Cleared, the police force continues its campaign against illegal drugs to completely eradicate it in the entire province. (via CATPPO)
