Manila, Philippines – In a recent article for the Manila Bulletin, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman underscored the vital contributions of Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers in achieving the government’s Agenda for Prosperity.
Secretary Pangandaman lauded these workers for their unwavering dedication, describing them as integral to the effective delivery of public services. “Their role in government is indispensable as we push forward with our development agenda,” she said.
In a move to recognize their importance, Secretary Pangandaman announced two significant milestones for COS and JO workers:
- The extension of their contracts until December 31, 2025.
- A gratuity pay increase to Php 7,000, providing greater financial support to these essential workers.
The DBM Chief also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of COS and JO personnel. “The government will never abandon them but will strive to improve their working conditions and equip them to become regular government employees,” she assured.
This announcement is expected to boost morale among COS and JO workers while reflecting the administration’s focus on inclusivity and economic empowerment.
