An employee of LGU Virac, considered one of the high-value targets in the area, was arrested in a conducted buy-bust operation.

The suspect, identified by the alias Raprap, thirty-seven years old (37), married, and a resident of Brgy Calatagan Tibang Virac, Catanduanes.

The suspect was apprehended on June 24, at around 8:13 pm in Brgy Gogon Sirangan Virac, Catanduanes.

The suspect is currently in the custody of Virac MPS and underwent a mandatory drug test conducted by the Provincial Forensic Unit.

Meanwhile, prior to the arrest of the said suspect, a joint operation was conducted at around 7:00 pm by the combined forces of RPDEU (Lead Unit) and Virac MPS, led by PCPT Julius Arnee G. Dedase, under the supervision of Chief of Police PMAJ Robert Kevin T. Caparroso. This operation led to the arrest of the suspect along with drug and non-drug paraphernalia.

Confiscated from the suspect were (11) eleven pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu. Also seized were (1) one piece of genuine five-hundred-peso bill used as buy-bust money, (9) nine pieces of five-hundred-peso bill as boodle money, (1) one piece of genuine five-hundred-peso bill, assorted coins, (2) two small keys, (1) one OPPO cellphone, (1) one grey coin purse, (1) one black leather RRJ wallet, (13) thirteen pieces of one-thousand-peso bill, assorted IDs, and (2) two ATM cards from LandBank and BDO, and several documents.

The inventory of the seized drug and non-drug items was conducted at the scene in the presence of the suspect and mandatory witnesses, Brgy Kagawad Arvin Anthony Tabuzo of Brgy Marcelo Alberto Virac, Catanduanes, and a representative from the Provincial Prosecution Office, Mr. Rudy Templonuevo.

The suspect was informed of his rights under the Miranda Doctrine and underwent a medical examination at EBMC Hospital and booking procedure. Meanwhile, Virac MPS is preparing the case for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Via Virac PNP/CAtPPO/BicolPeryodiko.
