VIRAC, Catanduanes — A formal turnover of office ceremony for the Chief of Police (COP) position at the Virac Municipal Police Station (MPS) took place on January 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The event marked the transition of leadership from outgoing COP, PMAJ Emsol E. Icawat, to incoming COP, PMAJ Robert Kevin T. Caparroso.
The ceremony was presided over by Catanduanes Police Provincial Office (CATPPO) Provincial Director, PCOL Edward D. Quijano, and attended by local officials, including Virac Municipal Mayor Hon. Samuel V. Laynes, who delivered a message recognizing the contributions of both officers.
PMAJ Caparroso, who previously served as the Chief of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of CATPPO, expressed his gratitude and commitment to continuing the station’s mission of ensuring public safety and community engagement in Virac.
Meanwhile, PMAJ Icawat transitions to a new role as the Chief of the Provincial Administrative and Resource Management Unit (PARMU) of CATPPO. In his remarks, he thanked the local government, police personnel, and the community for their support during his tenure as COP of Virac.
