Legazpi City, Albay – Officials and employees of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office V have extended a warm welcome to Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr., CESO III, as the newly appointed Regional Director of CHED RO V. In a heartfelt statement, the office expressed confidence in Dr. Anduyan’s leadership, stating, “Welcome and congratulations as you blaze the trail of higher education in Region V. Dagos po!”

Dr. Anduyan brings with him a wealth of experience in higher education and public service, which is expected to further strengthen the initiatives and programs of CHED in the Bicol Region.

Meanwhile, the CHED community bid a fond farewell to outgoing Regional Director Atty. Septon A. de la Cruz, CESO III, who concurrently served as Officer-in-Charge of Catanduanes State University (CatSU) prior to his departure from CHED Bicol Region. The CatSU family honored his dedication and contributions as OIC, citing his efforts in guiding the university during his tenure.

CHED officials expressed deep gratitude for Atty. Septon’s “empowering and transformative leadership, as well as the lasting legacy and friendship” that he left not only in CHED RO V but also in CatSU. His contributions to the advancement of higher education in the region were lauded, with officials saying, “Dios Mabalos!”

This leadership transition marks a new chapter for CHED RO V as it continues to uphold its mission of improving access and quality in higher education across Region V.
