Bato, Catanduanes – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office has recognized the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Bato as the outstanding Sanggunian in the 4th to 6th class municipal category.
Alongside SB Bato, representing the region with their respective top rankings in their categories are the Sangguniang Panlungsod (City Council) of Naga as the Independent Component City category awardee, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Legazpi as the component city category awardee, and SB Nabua, Camarines Sur, in the 1st to 3rd class municipality category.
Because of this recognition, SB Bato will represent the region in the national awards, where they will compete with other awardees in similar categories from various regions across the country.
In connection with this, the leadership of DILG and the 2023 Local Legislative Award expressed their heartfelt congratulations to the winners of this year’s selections. They hope that these accomplishments will serve as inspiration for other Sanggunians to enhance their performance in their respective areas.
Furthermore, the Sangguniang Bayan of Baras and Virac also made it to the list. SB Baras was recognized second in the 4th to 6th class category, while SB Virac secured the second spot in the 1st to 3rd class municipality category.

The awarded Sanggunians expressed their joy and gratitude for the recognition this year. According to Vice Mayor Roy Regalado of SB Bato, this recognition serves as a significant morale booster for their team, motivating them to improve their performance in fulfilling their duties. It affirms that they are on the right track, following the basic procedures in conducting their sessions.
