The Department of Health (DOH) Bicol has reported a total of six fireworks-related injuries (FWRI) as of December 25, 2024. These incidents occurred across various towns in Albay and Camarines Sur, with injuries ranging from blast/burn to eye injuries caused by improvised fireworks.

  1. Albay – Guinobatan: A 10-year-old male sustained a blast/burn injury from a whistle bomb on December 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM. He was treated and sent home after consultation at JBDAPH at 2:37 PM.
  2. Camarines Sur – Buhi: A 10-year-old male suffered an eye injury from a boga (improvised cannon) on December 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM. He was treated at BMC on December 25, 2024, at 11:20 AM and sent home.
  3. Camarines Sur – Gainza: Another 10-year-old male from Gainza sustained an eye injury from a boga on December 25, 2024, at 10:50 AM. He was treated at BMC at 1:10 PM the same day and was sent home.
  4. Camarines Sur – Calabanga: An 11-year-old male from Calabanga also suffered an eye injury from a boga on December 25, 2024, at 10:00 AM. He was treated at BMC at 12:00 PM and sent home.
  5. Camarines Sur – Pamplona: An 8-year-old male from Pamplona sustained an eye injury from a boga on December 25, 2024, at 1:31 PM. He was treated at BMC at 3:30 PM and sent home.
  6. Albay – Daraga: A 20-year-old male in Daraga suffered a blast/burn injury from a Five Star firecracker on December 25, 2024, at 7:00 PM. He was treated at BRHMC at 8:38 PM and sent home.
