Legazpi City β Bagwis Catanduanes secured 11 gold, 9 silver, and 30 bronze medals at the recently concluded Palarong Bicol 2025, held in Legazpi City from March 22-29, 2025.
The gold medalists from Catanduanes include:
π₯ Mark Renjie Tabor and Patricia Arlet Sy β Dance Sports (6 golds)
π₯ Dithrone S. Subion, Yurico Cain S. Subion, and Jojie Rima β Boxing (3 golds)
π₯ Jeh Jireh O. Alcantara β Athletics (1 gold)
π₯ Irianne Ysabella A. Camacho β Tennis (1 gold)
In an interview with Radyo Peryodiko, Sports Coordinator Fidel Vegim acknowledged that while some of the province’s promising athletes fell short of expectations, they still managed to bring home silver and bronze medals.
According to Vegim, training played a crucial role in the athletes’ performance, and despite showcasing their strength, the team admitted that the competition was tough. “In swimming and other sports events, some matches were decided by just a few seconds,” he noted.
Despite the challenges, DepEd Catanduanes remains hopeful that they will develop better strategies to improve the province’s performance in future competitions. However, Catanduanes experienced a slight drop in ranking, finishing 11th overall, compared to last yearβs 9th place finish.

π₯ Camarines Norte β 66 gold, 44 silver, 76 bronze
Meanwhile, Camarines Sur was crowned champion in the PARA Games, with Naga City finishing second.
Catanduanes athletes remain determined to improve their performance and aim for a stronger showing in the next Palarong Bicol. πͺπ
