Virac, Catanduanes – The Provincial Local Government Unit of Catanduanes aims to expand its flagship Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program to other municipalities in Catanduanes. This decision comes after providing assistance to beneficiaries in several towns such as Baras, Virac, Bato, and San Andres, with the goal of providing proper sanitation and water facilities to residents and preventing a cholera outbreak caused by the lack of adequate sanitation facilities.

It is estimated that more than 8,376 families in the province do not have access to proper sanitation facilities, making them a priority for assistance under this program. The WASH Program is expected to bring about significant positive changes, with a focus on ensuring its sustainability and benefiting future generations. (PY)
